Fun with the Flower Press

flower pickingCreating with the grandkids is the best. This week they each (ages 4 and 9) made a flower press on the laser engraver. 

 

 

 

 

 
  1. They typed their text and chose the graphics. The machine cut and engraved which always amazes them.
      

2. Then we went outside and cut wild violets from the yard to dry in the press

 

 

    
3. They flattened their cut flowers and placed them on layers of paper towels in their presses.

 

 

 

  
4. They used 3 d printed plastic bolts and wingnuts to tighten their flower presses to dry their flowers.

 

 

    
5. 

We'll use these flowers in some art projects another day.

What fun the simple things can be.
